The CAG Difference

20+ years of service, professionalism and results.

We are different from most M&A firms:

CAG typically focuses on the under-served $3 million to $15 million transaction size market, working with clients throughout New England, and is sell-side almost exclusively – i.e. representing business owners as opposed to buyers.

Our goal is to deliver the best sales results and overall outcomes possible, in part accomplished through the development and execution of a client-specific customized marketing plan, and to provide a better overall experience than other mergers and acquisitions firms or business brokers working in our target market.

CAG is compensated based upon its effectiveness with its interests aligned with that of its clients. The great preponderance of firm revenue comes from success-based fees.

While we work with the full spectrum of potential acquirers, including strategic, private equity and family office buyers, CAG’s ability to develop and work with owner-operator and search fund buyers, which often represent the best acquirers for companies in its target size range, is a key difference maker and important to our success.

CAG works extensively with clients and their advisors to gain an understanding of the business, its marketability and potential sale value. There is never any expense to potential clients for this extensive upfront review and discussion, which is necessary to help ensure the business owner is ready and that his or her overall goals have a strong likelihood of being met.

We limit the number of engagements we take on to ensure that a high level of service is maintained, and we are dedicated to producing the best results possible for each owner-client.

CAG’s principals have extensive experience working with a variety of companies, ranging from smaller start-up firms to a publicly traded bank. Importantly, Greg, Erin and Mike understand what it is like to be in their clients' position.

We strive to maintain professionalism and confidentiality, and for facilitating strong working relationships with the various advisors engaged by both business owners and prospective buyers.

CAG thrives on the challenge of making the most out of each situation – whether this challenge comes in the form of achieving the best sale terms possible or completing an exceptionally difficult assignment.
