Stephen VlachosStephen Vlachos -

A co-founding principal of CVG in 2008 and past partner with Greg, Steve had a successful career as an entrepreneur before moving to M&A in 2001. As the founder and owner of several businesses, along with an earlier corporate management background, Steve has a combination of business management experience and knowledge of what it takes to start, operate, grow and sell a successful business. He has been on both sides of the negotiating table. He understands the concerns of both business sellers and buyers, and has a deep understanding of the sweat equity and unique skills required to develop and grow a business, as well as the emotional impact of selling a company.  Steve has successfully facilitated the sale of dozens of of operating companies and originally partnered with Greg in 2005.

Gregory CaswellGregory Caswell -

A co-founding principal of CVG in 2008 and the Managing Member, Greg had a challenging and successful career in banking prior to moving into M&A advisory.  Earlier his focus was on retail group management and product development, moving into commerical lending then large loan workouts, with First NH Banks (now Citizens).  His last ten years in banking were spent at Coastal Bank, Portland Maine, first as Chief Lending Officer and then President/CEO.  Coastal was a severely troubled institution when he arrived and he led the bank from the brink of closure (Cease & Desist, eight quarter failure list, cross guarantee claim) to to a successful re-emergence and eventual sale in 2001 that represented a major win for pre and post reorganization shareholders, including a 31.8% shareholder IRR following the recapitalization.  He partnered with Steve in 2005 and almost exclusively works with business owners, always with a focus on producing the best sale outcomes possible.  Greg has developed strong relationships in the New England transaction and private equity communities and his years in banking provide him with a network of resources to help facilitate and finance business sales. He is a past Chair of the Maine Board of Overseers of the Bar as well as a past President of Southern Maine Big Brothers/Big Sisters.

David Murray -

David draws on over thirty years of financial, marketing and management experience in both large corporate and small business settings. At UNUM, David structured hundreds of institutional private debt and equity transactions, as well as managed troubled investments.  As a consultant, David has supported numerous businesses on a wide variety of matters including strategic planning, capital acquisition, business valuation, and business sales and acquisitions.  As a co-founder of Raven Technology, a manufacturer of vehicle mounted electric generators, David led the capital raising effort, implemented the successful marketing strategy and product launch, and built the North American dealer network.  David has worked with the Caswell Vlachos Group on a variety of M&A assignments since 2012.  David graduated from Bowdoin College, has an MBA from the University of Southern Maine and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Michael Wing -

Mike affiliated with CVG in 2016 and has a long history of holding challenging manufacturing management and leadership positions.  Concurrently with his work with CVG he is a Co-founder and President of Accelera, a start-up technology company that has developed advanced "wearable" technology that allows individuals to improve their proprioception and neuroplasticity.  He is a General Partner in CTM Ventures (i.e. Concept-to-Market), which provides professional and managerial support to tech company founders, helping them to develop their technology, and build their business plan and team.  He is also on the Boards of Lanco Integrated and the Maine Center for Entrepreneurial Development, and previously was the Director of External Programs for the University of Southern Maine.

Other Team Members – While Steve, Greg Dave and Mike take the lead and complete the bulk of work relating to each engagement, they have a team of outside associates with strong skills in certain, specific areas that they call upon on an as-needed basis.

It is the synergy between Steve, Greg, David and Mike, and their mutual commitment to providing outstanding results that has produced such a high success rate and satisfied clientele. When it comes time to sell a business, including the development of creative transaction solutions, the Caswell Vlachos Group provides business owners with a resource that is fully committed to bringing about a successful sale while navigating as smoothly as possible through the sometimes difficult trials of the business sale process.
